ВАСИЛИЙ ЕРОШЕHКО И ЕГО ВРЕМЯ

Уважаемые коллеги!
В этом году мы отмечаем 50 лет со дня смерти Василия Яковлевича Ерошенко -
писателя почти неоцененного, да и неизвестного, на родине. Тем не менее, мы
надеемся, что многие из вас знают его творчество. Мы полагаем, также, что вы
знаете и его биографию - биографию истинного эсперантиста и удивительного
человека.
Однако до сего дня почти нет серьезных исследований творчества В. Ерошенко в
контексте его эпохи. Многие исследователи раскрывают его жизнь и творчество
не как факт культуры эпохи модернизма, но как некий интересный курьез.
Мы хотим проанализировать творчество писателя в контексте его времени, в
контексте русского "Серебряного века", в контексте литературных процессов,
протекавших в то же время в Китае и Японии, где жил и работал писатель
долгие годы, в контексте движения модернизма, захватившего тогда весь мир.
Для этого мы имеем честь объявить виртуальную конференцию "Ерошенко и его
время".

46th COMPETITION FOR FILMS AND VIDEOS ON JAPAN 2002
Regulations
Objectives
The objectives of this Competition are to stimulate the production of
cultural, scientific, industrial and documentary films and videos on Japan,
as well as to award prizes to those which best introduce Japan abroad.
Sponsors and Supporters
The Competition is held by the Association for the Diffusion of Japanese
Films Abroad, Inc. (UniJapan Film) and the Japan Association of Audiovisual
Producers, Inc. under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and
the Asahi Shimbun.
Organizing Committee
The Competition is administered by an Organizing Committee made up of
members representing the sponsors and supporters.
Categories of Competition
The Competition consists of two categories:
1st Category: Films and videos dealing with Japanese culture and arts
2nd Category: Films and videos dealing with Japanese science, technology and
society
Eligibility
(1) The Competition is open to all producing companies, individual
producers, sponsors, and TV stations.
(2) Entrants may submit either film (16mm or 35mm print with optical sound
track) or VHS video cassette in NTSC, PAL (N, Low Band) or SECAM systems.
(3) Films having separate sound tracks are not accepted.
(4) Films and videos must have been produced after November, 2000 and have a
running time not in excess of 60 minutes.
(5) Films and videos are acceptable in either Japanese-language or
foreign-language versions.
(6) No entrant may submit more than three titles (films or videos).
(7) Entries previously submitted may not be re-submitted, in original or
re-edited form.
Jury
(1) The Organizing Committee will appoint a jury that will judge all
competition entries.
(2) The Jury will consist of both Japanese and non-Japanese.
(3) Persons involved in the production of any of the entries are not allowed
as jury members.
Prizes
The Jury will award Gold Prize, Silver Prize and Jury Prize.
(1) The Gold Prize will be given to the producing company of the best film
or video.
(2) Silver Prize(s) and Jury Prize(s) will be given to the producing company
of film or video meriting special recognition.
(3) Citations will be given to the sponsors of the Gold, Silver and Jury
Prize winners.
Prize of the Minister of Foreign Affairs
The Minister of Foreign Aea|ac will give this prize to the company producing
a film or video selected from among the prize winners.
The Japan Times Prize and International Herald Tribune/The Asahi Shimbun
Prize
These two prizes will also be given to the company producing the film or
video awarded the Gold Prize.
Judging and Award Presentation
Judging of all entries will take place between October 21st (Monday) and
October 25th (Friday), 2002, in Tokyo. The award presentation ceremony will
be held in Tokyo in December, 2002.
Prizes awarded to the entries from abroad will be forwarded to the
recipients through diplomatic channels after the award presentation
ceremony.
Application
(1) Each entrant should send a completed entry form and the documents listed
below (3) to the Organizing Committee not later than September 20th, 2002.
(2) No entry will be accepted for competition unless entry form arrives at
the Organizing Committee on or before the above date: September 20th, 2002.
(3) Each entry form should be accompanied by the following documents for
each entry.
a. Script, in duplicate, in the original language.
b. Japanese or English script of the entry, in duplicate, if the entry is
not subtitled or dubbed in Japanese or English.
Transportation of prints and VHS cassettes
(1) Prints or VHS cassettes to be entered should be sent to reach the
Organizing Committee by October 1st, 2002. The Organizing Committee cannot
accept entries arriving after October 1st, 2002.
(2) Entrant must send entry VHS cassettes to the Organizing Committee by
mail or international courier services.
(3) Entrant may also send entry prints or VHS cassettes to the Organizing
Committee through their national diplomatic establishments in Japan.
(4) All transportation costs to and back from Tokyo must be borne by the
entrant.
(5) All prints of films will be returned to the entrant after the
Competition. However, VHS cassettes will not be returned.
Deadlines
The official entry form completed and signed, the print of the film and VHS
cassette participating, and the completed documentation must all arrive at
the Organizing Committee before the deadlines. These deadlines will be
strictly observed.
General Provisions
(1) Prize winners will be shown to the public in Tokyo and other cities in
Japan and abroad. For this purpose prize-winning prints and VHS cassettes
will be retained until all showings are over.
(2) The Chairman of the Organizing Committee reserves the right to refuse to
accept any entries not conforming to the regulations and to decide all
matters and questions not provided for in these regulations.
(3) Entry in this Competition implies the unconditional acceptance of these
regulations.
